An AMAZING fish catching adventure!

Christmas Island - aka Kiritimati - is the largest coral atoll in the world. It is also one of the most endangered countries in the world due to rising sea levels. I have had the good fortune of fishing the flats of Christmas Island many times over many seasons, and I can honestly say that I have never had a better time saltwater fishing in any other destination. When I close my eyes at night, I can only hope that my dreams will take me back to those pure white sand flats, turquoise waters, and schools of ghostlike fish. 

Christmas Island shut down completely in February of 2020. I was on the last plane full of anglers to leave the island. All lodges shut down, all fishing came to a halt, and the islanders went back to the isolation they once had before the island was "discovered" by fly anglers in the 1980s.

Due to the COVID pandemic, Christmas Island was closed for 37 months. Complete and total REJUVINATION. 

The island is now open again and welcoming anglers. We have been waiting for that opening because we have one of the reservations that has been pushed forward year after year and our time is now upon us. 

Most of our anglers hung in there and waited patiently for the opportunity to return to this fly fishing Mecca. However, some of our original crew of anglers had other things come up over those 3 years of waiting, some had major life changes, and sadly one of our guests expired during the shut down.

I have just a couple of open spots to fill on this very special trip and they will be filled on a first-come first-served basis. 

Here are the dates: 

October 10-17, 2023 - This is the all-women trip that Heather Hodson of United Women on the Fly is co-hosting with me. 

October 17-24, 2023 - This is a co-ed group, come one, come all!  

The cost: $3290 for the week. Includes 6 nights lodging in air conditioned beach bungalow with private bathroom, 6 days of guided fishing with your own personal guide for each day, all meals at the lodge plus a lunch on the water every day, and transportation while we are at Christmas Island. 

Additional costs: Flights to Hawaii and then to Christmas Island (Fiji Air - one flight per week). One night in a hotel in Hawaii the night before we go to CXI (airport code for Kiritimati). Gratuities, and Fishing Gear.
