Additional Information

On our multi-day trout camp float trips, we cover between 25 and 45 miles of wild and scenic river. Spend your days floating from spot to spot fishing in all of the prime places along the way.

We specialize in floating the most remote stretches of the Deschutes from Maupin down to the confluence with the Columbia. This 50 mile stretch does NOT border the Warm Springs Reservation or any private land, so we are able to access and enjoy both banks of the river and all of the islands along the way. Because this stretch of river sees far less pressure than any other, the trout freely rise to dry flies when the hatch is on and you can safely assume that yours is one of the only flies they will see in a season.

Our fishing program is tailored to provide you, the client, the highest quality one-on-one interaction with our highly experienced guide staff. We put a maximum of two anglers in each boat, which means that you will spend at least half of your guide day with your guide by your side, scouting and spotting rising trout. Our guides are extremely attentive to enhancing your fly fishing experience - whether you want a fish spotter, a casting instructor, a human wading staff, or simply a friendly chat while fishing - our guides are there at your side. This personal experience with a patient, knowledgeable, and fun guide at your side, is what sets our overnight floats apart from all the rest.

Our camps are very comfortable - large sleeping tents are set up with two cots in each and ample room for standing and changing clothes. Many guests choose to fully enjoy the mosquito-free desert environment, by moving their cots mere feet from the river they can enjoy the canopy of stars. Our camp support raft will float down river ahead of the anglers to reserve a great camping spot and will have the camp set-up and functional as you float in after a long day of fishing.

Our meals are thoughfully prepared and specialize in Northwest Cuisine. Sit down at the riverside table to enjoy marinated free-range chicken breast with strawberry salsa, mushroom risotto, in-season fresh fruit salad, and northwest cheesecake for desert. The next night your river-sized hunger will be satified by table-tossed caesar salad, USDA choice thick-cut New York strip steak with mushroom-cabrenet sauce, cast-iron Lyonaisse potatoes, and sauteed apples for dessert. In the morning you will awake to the enticing aroma of dark roast gourmet coffee in the French press. Wade into the camp water and cast to trout until the smell of farmer's sausage patties and hot giddle-fresh pancakes lures you back to the breakfast table. After breakfast, you will hop into the driftboat with your guide and take off from camp to enjoy a day of floating and fishing. Our camp staff will see to it that all of the camping gear is packed up and transported to the next camp while you enjoy your fishing.

Trout camping trips are extremely popular, so advance reservations are required.

Trips are available for groups of 2-8 anglers. Every two anglers will have a guide boat to themselves and a tall spacious tent with two cots each with a sleeping pad. Due to the nature of staffing this type of trip, we book groups in even numbers so that each guide boat has two anglers/passengers. If your group is an odd number, you will be charged at the rate of the next highest even number. For example, a group of five is charged the rate for the group of six. So, keep in mind when arranging your group size that an even number of campers gives you the best value for your dollar. Two person trips require a slight surcharge per day.
