Nautilus 8-12 Weight Reels
Originally designed for the extreme abuse of saltwater fishing, the award winning Nautilus reels have become our favorite for Spey rods as well as for the salt. These reels are machined from bar stock 6061-T6 aerospace grade aluminum in the Nautilus factory in Pembroke Pines, FL. The drag system is what sets these reels apart from all the rest: a sealed, maintenance-free, draw bar cork disc drag system. The key word here is SEALED - nothing can get into the drag mechanism, not salt, sand, dirt or even water. What that means is that the drag is absolutely bombproof in cold weather fishing situations where an unsealed cork disc drag is prone to glazing over with ice and causing your reel to free spool - bye bye steelhead of a lifetime!
