The Fish Cat Cougar is based on the standard pontoon boat design, but certain innovations in this boat make it very adaptable to a variety of water conditions. For instance, the dual pontoon design on both sides of the Cougar make it less wind resistant and allow for better tracking than most single tube pontoons. While this can be advantageous on rivers, it also means that if it's windy on the lake you're fishing, you'll see the shore go by at a much slower rate. The dual pontoons also ensure a greater degree of safety for obvious reasons. Should you encounter a river hazard and lose one pontoon, the Cougar will continue to float and allow you to get out of a potentially dangerous situation. With the slightly wider berth of these dual pontoons and their level design, the Cougar is able to stay afloat in extremely low water conditions. In terms of travel, the Cougar is easily thrown on the roof of the car or in the back of the pickup. At only 75 lbs. it works like an ant and carries a whopping 350 lb. load capacity.
