Wired Stone Nymph
The wired stone has a body wrapped out of gold/yellow and brown wire - giving it the exact same two contrasting colors as the actual golden stone (hesperoperla pacifica) body. This is a trigger for the trout to chase and wolf down every one of these nymphs they can find. Since the weight is distributed throughout the body of the fly and not just concentrated in the bead head, the fly will roll and tumble more naturally than one that is just top-heavy with a bead. Peacock herl in the thorax and natural-looking wing cases add to the appeal of this fly.
