River Rat Squid
The River Rat Squid is tied on a hook shank, except the hook is cut off the shank and a trailing octopus hook on heavy mono is solidly built into the body of the fly. This trailing hook is what grabs the fish and stays imbedded in their jaw as they do cartwheels out in center river. The fly is tied in a variety of creative color combinations, all of which we have found very effective wherever big steelhead swim. The fly measures 3 inches from the hook eye to the bend of the trailing hook.
