The Sandy River is undoubtedly one of the best winter steelhead fisheries in Oregon with unbelievable fly water. Coupled with breathtaking scenery and chrome bright fish the Sandy is a must for any serious steelhead angler. Located just minutes from Gresham the Sandy flows through a pristine canyon reminiscent of the fabled rivers of British Columbia.

The Sandy fishes well from late December until Mid-April and is amazingly consistent for a winter steelhead fishery. The flies listed below have been hand selected by Travis Johnson our top guide on the Sandy river. Travis grew up in Sandy and religiously fished the river through his youth. The selection here is what he uses on all his guide days. If you are interested in a guided trip please call us at (541)395-0995.
