Caddis flies are the most prolific aquatic insect on the Deschutes. All summer long, caddis flies swarm the grassy banks and patiently wait for the cool evening air. The last two hours of the day will undoubtedly be the best dry fly fishing of the day with millions of caddis flies laying eggs. When morning rolls around put on a dead caddis and fish the foam for the big bruisers.
