Tungsten Rubberleg Copper John
This version of the Copper John makes a great trailer behind a nymph, and it makes an even better dropper behind a dry fly because of its tungsten bead. Because tungsten is about four times heavier than lead, this fly will sink faster and straighter than a fly tied with an ordinary lead bead. The curved hook and rubberlegs create the appearance of a cute, little, cuddly, vulnerable pupa or nymph- and that's when the trout turn on the predator instinct.
